Oropesa del Mar

First time visitors to Oropesa in Castellon - Costa Azahar, will be pleasantly surprised by its varied coastline. Oropesa has miles of beaches to the north, ideal for nautical sports, and the Bay of La Concha further on, with fine sand and a beautiful promenade. To the south lie the modern facilities of the sports Port, where the foothills of the sierra Oropesa reach the sea, forming a lovely landscape of cliffs and coves surrounded by Mediterranean woodland. Next to the coast, the ancient outline of the castle provides a good view of the small and picturesque town centre that has now expanded outwards into a pretty residential area.

Travelling North from Valencia take AP-7 towards Barcelona (you will pass Castellon, then Benicassim) look out for Km 998 on the side of the road this is for Oropesa del Mar, so turn off at Junction 45 (Oropesa Del Mar).

Travelling South from Barcelona towards Valencia take the AP-7 and turn off at Junction 45 for Oropesa Del Mar.

By plane.

By car

AP7 motorway, exit number 45, or from the N-340 main road. We are 98 kms from Valencia, 265 kms from Barcelona and 435 kms from Madrid.

By bus

From Madrid via Valencia, the buses run by the AUTORES bus company stop right in the heart of Marina d′Or. From Castellon there is a bus route run by the MEDITERRANEO bus company.

By train

The ′Alaris′ Train runs from Madrid to Castellón and Oropesa del Mar. Both the Alaris and Talgo trains that run from Barcelona, Valencia and Alicante stop in Castellón and have some scheduled stops in Oropesa

By boat

Valencia′s Port is just 90 km from Marina d′Or and receives international cruise ships. Ferries also arrive from the Balearic islands. Oropesa del Mar has an excellent Marina.
